What exactly do you stock in your shop?
We stock a wide range of flowers and foliage which vary according to season; plants for both house and garden, vases and baskets, plant pots and bags, Bomb Cosmetics candles and bath bombs, East of India gifts, ribbon by the metre, Oasis foam, cellophane by the metre, and greetings cards for all occasions.
How do I look after my flowers?
First of all, it's best to remove the packaging. If your bouquet is wrapped in gift wrap it is best to remove it as the flowers can get damp with condensation. Cut the stems as directed below, place in a vase with fresh water and add flower food.
An aqua packed bouquet (in water) can be left as it is for up to 48 hours, just keep the water topped up by pouring more through the centre with a jug. To remove the packaging pierce the water bubble over the sink, don’t cut the binding tape as the flowers have been specially arranged and do not need to be dismantled.
Do I need to cut the stems of my flowers?
Yes. The stems dry up quickly and if they are not trimmed they won’t take up the water. Make sure you use a sharp knife or scissors, cut the stems on a slant to suit the height of your vase, cutting at least 1cm off. Keep the water topped up daily and remove any faded blooms and leaves.
My flowers are in foam, what do I do?
Flower arrangements should be topped up daily with fresh water, making sure the foam does not dry out.
Where is best to keep my flowers?
Preferably in a cool, draught free location away from heat sources such as fires, radiators, direct sunlight and electrical goods. Cooler temperatures extend the life of flowers.
How long will they last?
If you follow our care instructions they should last 7 days. You may find some flowers last longer including Lilies, Anthuriums and Chrysanthemums. Certain summer and spring varieties, along with Roses, don’t last quite as long - you should get 5 days vase life for these more delicate flowers.
Plants are able to survive much longer if replanted in the garden or a plant pot. If looked after well, they will continue to regrow year after year.
Why do my flowers not look the same as the picture on the website?
We will do our best to match to each picture exactly or as close to colour specifications as required but as all our bouquets/arrangements are made according to availability of flowers, we are sometimes unable to do this. If you opt for our Monday - Saturday flowers or Florist's Choice, the flowers chosen will be at our discretion. However, please rest assured that all flowers we use are of the finest quality.
